Zen Masta
So the Lakers took Phil Jackson back. But this time he doesn't have two of the top five players in the league. So how will he fare?
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that this is the stint that tarnishes Phil's reputation. I say he makes it through the first season with a 5 game improvement, and about 3/4 through next year, after no further real progress, he'll be let go in what will be referred to as "a failed experiment".

Greatest NBA Finals Moment
Continuing my sports block here, this is a cool little page. Watch video of the top 32 moments in NBA Finals history, then vote, NCAA-tournament-bracket-style, for the best. There's two conferences, New School and Old School, 1990 being the dividing line. Gnarly. Link

Baseball World Cup
The story's not so new any more, but baseball will be inaugurating a World Cup event next year, with "a 16-nation tournament featuring the world's best players competing for their home countries". Nifty. Link
